We had an amazing response to the “Book in a Box” competition as part of World Book Day. There were 45 entries altogether from children in nursery right through to Year 6. The boxes were all individual and unique representing a wide range of books, fiction and non fiction. It was EXTREMELY difficult to judge them but the winners were chosen based on the boxes themselves, discussions with the children about why they chose the book and how they made their box. We also looked for boxes where the children knew the book and not just the film. It was really nice to see that children had worked with family members to make their boxes. We will be displaying them in our school library so please come and take a look.

The winners were:  Oliver in Nursery, Taylor & Lottie in Reception, Sienna & Amelia Y1, Porscha & Urban  Y2, Eva & Keegan Y3, Lexi & Connor Y4, Lily & Courtney Y5, Ajwa & Faiza Y6. Also Amber in Y3 for her box and AMAZING costume. A special mention went to Ajwa, Luht & Yahya for their joint box of the Roald Dahl bookset!

All children who entered received a book mark. The winners in Nursery & Reception received a book and the rest of the winners went to Colne Book Shop to choose their own book.
