Today our inpsection report will be published by OFSTED. The team of inspectors spent two long days at the school looking at all aspects. They spoke to children, staff, parents and governors. They watched lessons and looked at lots of pupils work. They heard children read and watched them during their lunch and playtimes. They looked at the displays around school and at records kept for safeguarding and behaviour. The inspectors said that the children were very well behaved and lovely to talk to, one telling them that “this school is amazing”. They said parents were extremely positive and were full of praise for the school. They said that leaders and staff have high expectations and aspirations of all pupils and that pupils have wonderful opportunites to develop personally.
At the end of the inspection they judged our school to be:
GOOD in Leadership & Management,
Good in Quality of Education,
GOOD in behaviour & Attitudes,
GOOD in the EYFS
OUTSTANDING in Personal Development.
We are all extremely pleased with the report and the grades we received. We are particularly proud of the outstanding in Personal Development; as a school we place great emphasis on developing the whole child and aiming to provide a wealth of rich experiences and a broad, creative curriculum for all children.
It is great for the school and is a reflection of the dedication given by all staff and governors connected with West Street and our amazing children and families.
The report is due to be published today and can be found at https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk and will soon be on our school website.
