Year 3 continued their learning all about the Ancient Greeks by trying some traditional Greek food today. We talked about what we still have today that we owe to the Greeks. From the alphabet, democracy, the Olympics and even the alarm clock! We also talked about how when Alexander the Great expanded the Greek Empire lots of Greek food spread across the world and how we still eat lots of it today.
We were then able to try some delicious new foods including; pitta breads, hummus, tzatziki, feta cheese, olives, feta and spinach parcels, stuffed peppers, water melon and Turkish delight. Lots of children tried everything with some children discovering new foods they like and some they definitely don’t!
