Welcome back everyone and hello to our new starters and families! We have had a lovely start to the academic year in nursery and the children have settled back in after the summer holidays.
Our first topic was ‘All about me and our families.’ We have enjoyed learning all about our selves and our friends. We discussed our similarities and differences and painted some wonderful self portraits. We spoke about things that are special to us and drew pictures of our friends and families. The children have enjoyed looking at photographs of family members and speaking about them at circle time. Some of the these have been put on our family tree display. If you would like, you can still send some photos in with your child or email them to Miss Ingham if you have not already (firstname.lastname@example.org) and these can be added also. We also discussed what we would like to be when we grow up and what the job or role involves.
The children have loved our new dark tent with the sensory toys and lights. We have enjoyed lots of familiar stories and we have revisited our nursery rules and routines.
Next week we will be moving onto Autumn and learning all about the wonderful changes that occur during this time of year.
Well done to our Star of the week too! 🙂
Notes to parents –
- Please can you make sure book bags are returned each week to be changed on Fridays, Thankyou!
- We also have lots of used purple sweatshirts that are still in good condition. If you would like to take one, a small contribution to our foundation fund would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
