On Monday evening, children from West street’s musical theatre group wowed a packed auditorium with their first ever performance of ‘The Sound of Music’ at Colne Municipal Hall. The children have worked on this performance since September and, though they were very nervous, they gave a stunning performance and the atmosphere in the theatre was fantastic! Mr Alexander Di Vito worked with the children on the song ‘Edelweiss’, playing his guitar on stage for them to sing to. Then, the children were joined by Miss McPherson and Ms James for their version of ‘So Long, Farewell’. The children’s costumes were kindly made by Mrs Elliott in KS1 and were authentic ‘curtain dresses’ as seen in the film. The children did their teachers and families proud and kicked off a week of performances for West Street at Pendle Schools’ Festival!
