What a great day we have had today spending our time doing all things “booky”. There were some amazing costumes showing brilliant creativity. From the Mad Hatter to Gangster Granny to Alex Rider to Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, Fantastic Mr Fox and numerous Harry Potters to name just a few. There was also an appearance by Snow White and 6 of her 7 dwarves (Bashful was too shy to appear). Burglar Bill tried stealing but was caught in the act and made to empty his SWAG bag.

With the theme being share a book Class 8 spent a session reading stories to Y1 whilst Class 9 spent the day writing their own stories to read to KS1 and Reception children. Classes 5 and 6 visited Colne Library to share stories with the staff there and completed a quiz and treasure hunt. We also launched our “Book Festival” to take place on 29th June and all classes have been writing letters to their favourite authors inviting them to join us.

We had lots of entries to our Book in a Box competition with children and families sharing their favourite stories. – watch this space for the winners.
