Spring 2 - People who help us

We have now come to the end of our topic 'People who Help us.' The children have really enjoyed learning all about the different jobs that people do in our community that help us all in everyday life. We have covered everything from what the emergency services do, to shop keepers and builders. The children have enjoyed taking on these roles, dressing up in the uniforms and role playing in the home corner.
We have had special visitors come in, that included a police lady, paramedic and all the children got to visit the fire station this week to finish off our topic. The children were very excited to go onto the fire engine. The firefighters told us all about the equipment that they used and they let us squirt water from the big water hose! We even got to see the flashy lights and they put the sirens on for us.
