Spring 1 - Winter and Dear Zoo

This half term we have been learning all about the Winter season and the changes that occur at this time of year. We looked at the cold weather and spoke about the clothes we may wear to keep us warm. The children have been gaining independence by putting on their own coats, hats, scarfs and gloves. We even had a go at doing up the zip, it was a little bit tricky! We were lucky enough to experience the wintery weather ourselves. The children had lots of fun playing in the snow, throwing snowballs and making snow angels.
We also looked at Winter anmals and their habitats which led us onto our next topic, animals and Dear Zoo.
We had a parcel delivered daily and to our surprise it was all the animals from the book 'Dear Zoo.' The children were so excited to guess what was in each package. We then made homes for all the animals that had arrived and the children have enjoyed looking after them in our zoo.
